Team Theorem Proof: Additional Details

In the Team Theorem Proof, students will prove a theorem in both the traditional method, and using modern techniques. After students have completed their part of the proof, they will share it with their teammates, and each student will write a reflective essay comparing and contrasting the two methods of proof, as well as showing some uses for the theorem in question.
Students will be evaluated on the quality of the proof that they completed, as well as the reflective essay comparing and contrasting the proofs. The uses for the theorem that the student provides in his reflective essay will also be taken into consideration for the grading of the assignment. The activity is effective if it helps the student to understand how theorems in mathematics are solved as well as the modern use for the topic.
You may use the text and outside resources for this assignment. Your team must prove the theorem using the methods used originally and using modern methods.

Group members will be graded on how well they work together to prove the theorem, based on review of the recorded discussion.

The reflective essay will be graded based the student's details in comparing and contrasting the methods used and on the writing rubric in the Syllabus.
